Mark's right in that not many people with discretionary spending power will be spending a lot of time watching YouTube. But YouTube is a useful parking place for video content that is effective from a B2B perspective. Then, success lies in getting the links in front of the right people and persuade them that there is something of interest and benefit to them at the end of the link.

What kind of content is effective in B2B? Information on current trends that will affect the viewer, with some advice on how to avoid a problem or gain a benefit. I don't think that there's a need for high production values -- some of the most watched videos online just feature a talking head. If the information is there, such videos can go viral within a specific market.

I've enjoyed doing the occasional HARO thing for awhile now. I delete most of the emails, but when I've got some time I'll read and see if anything is applicable. Every now and then I find something useful.

It is also great as a resource. I used it once to get marketing feedback and ideas for a blog post... which resulted in a guest post where I didn't even have to do the work....which was nice.
